You ever have one of those days where you feel like you’ve been busy all day, but also kind of… tired the whole time? Yeah, that’s today in a nutshell.
Last night at work was fine—nothing exciting, nothing tragic, just one of those “let’s get through this” nights. I came home exhausted, but instead of collapsing immediately, I did something semi-productive: I finally signed up for Skillshare! (Look at me, being all ambitious at 2 AM.)
Naturally, I fell down the rabbit hole of tutorials. First up: a crash course on Notion—because apparently, my life wasn’t already organized into enough boxes and lists. Then I checked out some Elementor tutorials for WordPress, because your girl has a website to build.
Fast forward to this morning, and I actually made progress! I started working on my About Me page and even got halfway through. I used AI to whip up a headshot (from one of my photos—yes, I’m that resourceful), and then I added a cute little map of Michigan to show where I’m from. Because honestly, what’s more “about me” than my love for exploring new cities?
All I have left is the final paragraph and a conclusion, and then I can move on to the homepage and the whole “mission statement and policies” situation. But before I go all in, I need to make sure this theme isn’t a hot mess. Right now, it feels… busy. Like, too many random boxes screaming for attention busy. I want my site to feel intentional, not like it’s trying to sell you five different eBooks you didn’t ask for.

Now here’s where the day gets spicy. After my little website productivity streak, I crashed for a bit (because night shift life = nap life). Dinner in bed with Jay was the usual cozy routine, but honestly, I was running on fumes. We barely got any time together before I had to drop him off at work again, and that always stings a little.
Then came the chaos. Picture this: I’m mid-nap, completely zonked out, when Jasmine (our little weasel agent of chaos) decides to launch a full-blown closet heist. Things start crashing down, I bolt upright like a horror movie character, and in the chaos… I step on my nectar collector. Snap. Gone. RIP.
But here’s the plot twist—I had that thing replaced in 23 minutes flat. I don’t know if that’s a personal record, but I’m claiming it.
So now, here I am: dabs in hand, Notion tabs open, one eye on the clock because work starts in about an hour. The website is calling my name, and despite the chaos, I’m feeling that little spark of “this is coming together.”
