Pink bonfire Pink paradise

Today was one of those rare unicorn days where things actually worked out. 🩄✹ First of all, let’s talk about the life-changing discovery: I swapped my usual melatonin 5mg for Trazodone 100mg last night, and holy heck—it worked. I actually woke up feeling alive instead of a zombie crawling out of the crypt. So yeah, sorry melatonin, you’re fired. Trazodone is officially my new sleep BFF.

Since I wasn’t dragging myself around like an extra on The Walking Dead, the day actually had potential. Jay had training this morning until 7:30, so I thought, “Ooo, perfect, I’ll do my lash clusters while I wait in the car.” But doing lashes in the dark? With tiny tweezers and glue? Yeah
no. It was giving “Final Destination: Eyeball Edition.” Abort mission.

Later, we swung by a little party/bonfire with Jay’s work friends before he had to go in. It was cozy, low-key, and reminded me that yes, hanging out with actual people outside the house is, in fact, a thing. Who knew?

Then came the part of adulthood no one warns you about: the Walmart run. We grabbed laundry baskets, command hooks (because apparently our walls can’t decorate themselves), and I scored something magical—Wet n Wild’s Disney Villains collection. Naturally, I snagged the Ursula makeup case because I fully believe I am her when I haven’t had coffee. 🐙☕

Dinner was elite: Little Caesars pretzel pizza. If love languages were food, that salty, buttery crust would be mine. 10/10, would die for it.

The rest of the evening turned into “Bailey the Blueprint Architect” mode. I literally drew out our house, wrote down all our furniture, and played interior-design Tetris until it clicked. Jay said I’m good at it, which basically means I can now add “wannabe HGTV host” to my rĂ©sumĂ©.

Furniture-wise, we’ve got big things coming this week: a whole bedroom set and a 50-inch TV. Which we totally deserve after both our 75-inch and 52-inch TVs decided to retire early this year. (The 52-inch had a good 9-year run. The 75-inch? Barely 2 years. Rude.) We tried replacing it with a projector, but the new bed setup ruins the vibe. So back to Team TV we go.

Upstairs will get a little shuffle too—keeping the Switch, the 65-inch, and the closet room (aka my wardrobe paradise). Downstairs/living room/bedroom combo will officially have the new set. Basically, our house is still a little chaotic, but it’s organized chaos now.

Still on the to-do list: over-the-door hangers, bathroom shelf space, and—my favorite—trying to become a plumber tomorrow. Our upstairs toilet has been broken since day one (thanks, useless maintenance). So tomorrow, I’ll be armed with vinegar, baking soda, and a snake. Either I’ll fix the toilet, or I’ll star in my own slapstick comedy routine. Stay tuned.

We may plan on moving next year, but for now? This house is slowly, stubbornly starting to feel like home. 💜
